Keeping the Continuum Alive: A forum for Treatment/Recovery Support providers who are interested in the planning,
linking and sustainability of Colorado's recovery community.
Hosted by: Mel Strasser of OMNI Institute; Guest speakers/presenters will vary
Most of us probably have a story about a client we’ve had who, for whatever reason, wasn’t able to make it through their treatment successfully. Perhaps they couldn’t get the proper referral; perhaps they couldn’t get to the appointment; perhaps they needed some other support networks to make it easier to maintain a sober and healthy life. The barriers to accessing services are many in our state: circumstances and attitudes and protocol that are often beyond our immediate control. But what if we believed that the various systems/providers/community stakeholders/clients could be connected? What if we were willing to take a harder look and begin to accept responsibility for the things that are in our control; reach across the gaps and try to connect with other providers and other systems to create a more steadfast and reliable web of services for our clients to count on? With the support of ATR, we’d like to start a regular forum to explore what it would take to build a better system of care in Colorado .
Every meeting will invite a keynote who can speak to large-picture realities and make feasible suggestions about what we, as a recovery community, can move towards. Individual providers who have a vision about how we can increase collaboration and connection will present their vision to the group for exploration. Unique topics related to industry capacity building will be shared and everyone will have the opportunity to make deeper relationships with one another. This Colorado system of care can’t be built overnight – but it can be built if we are willing to try. Please join us for invigorating conversation, the exploration of ideas, and discovering new ways to do better business as service providers!
WANTED: We welcome and are looking for providers who might be willing to host this two-hour conversation in their shop (must be able to accommodate at least 25-50 people) as well as individuals who have a strong vision about how our recovery system could improve (and be willing to create a 10-15 minute presentation). Please contact Mel Strasser at mstrasser@omni.org or 303.839.9422 x165 for further details.
Access to Recovery Technical Assistance: A forum for providers who need additional training on ATR procedures.
Hosted by Ryan Smith of Connect Care

Have you ever had difficulty with: Getting vouchers, cashing vouchers in, understanding “the system”, getting referrals, or ensuring you are following ATR provider guidelines in the event of an audit? Do you know who, and when, to call when your current vouchers are about to expire?

Connect Care will provide technical assistance in these areas, and many more, starting January 2010! There will be both structured presentations on ATR procedures and one-on-one help available to those who attend. Meetings will happen approximately every four months in each ATR service area. More information to follow – stay tuned! You can also contact Connect Care for more information - contact Ryan Smith at 719-314-2524 or ryan.smith@ppbhg.org
